Some of the abducted persons were commuting in a bus belonging to the Sokoto Mass Transit, according to the company’s General Manager, Yahuza Abubakar Chika. Chika stated that the driver of the company's bus and one passenger managed to escape the attack while the rest of the passengers, who were not so lucky, were taken into the bush by the armed men.
