After years of research into the origin and meaning of our last name, here are my theories:) All the ancestors of the families WAAP come from East Prussia. 1 Locations from which WAAPs are followed: a) are other's, Stalluponen, Eydkuhnen b) Danzig c) Konigsberg d) Prussian Eylau, Johnson 2) The oldest document that I have found is the birth certificate of the Hannss WAAP, born 1668 schools Ditten (his widow, Maria, born MANCKE, married on 11.5.1693 in the host George Neumann) 3) My oldest ancestor I've found in the archive is: John Adam WAAP geb.18.09.1793; gest.23.02.1858 4) Estonia is also the name, but the Estonians have a "W" in the alphabet and write it as "V". "5) In East Prussia, it was also often the name WAPP. These were immigrants from Switzerland.
