Many year ago, either Smiths (or maybe Walkers) Crips were researching surnames. I sent in TRUSLOVE and they replied saying that it was derived from Norse & French meaning "wolf hunter". Wolf from the French word "loup" and trus from some scandinavian word meaning hunter. However none of the modern scandinavian languages return a similar word for hunter. Therefore there is no solid evidence that this is so!
