[Punjab Newsline] - Akali Dal Candidate Paramjit Singh Makkar was declared elected from ward no 17 defeating his nearest rival Vasdev Singh Gill of Congress by a huge margin of 909 votes. Makkar was received votes as against 242 votes polled to Gill.
