I never really thought about the significance of this. But in the journal Laterality: Assymetries of the Body, Brain & Cognition, Annukka Lindell and Nicola Savill point out that the face expresses emotion asymmetrically. The left cheek is more emotionally expressive whereas the right cheek is more passive.
