Brinker comes from the term "at the Brink" This is a term for an area near Hattingen. Brink is colloquially synonymous "slope." I was from my grandparents sent with that of the original family farm Brinker on a rocky hillside in Hattingen was. This was the turn of the century to be demolished and the land cultivated elsewhere.
