The name of David is derived from the biblical first name David, which is described in the Old Testament as a shepherd boy who fights against Goliath and it is up to the "King of the Jews" brings. Due to this rise history it has been a popular first name, even in times when there were no last name. Son David is then a distinction between David and his son have been found so this patronymic in Russian at, for example, Alexis, son of the Tsar. The son-appendage has now joined it in the course of the centuries-s. The appendage is found in Dutch name frequently as-z, for example, with the painter Pieter Claesz or Rembrandt Harmensz van Rijn. In Northern Germany and Holland, where the name is often, in each case, presumably, the Calvinist influence led to the Old Testament names such as Jeremiah or Abraham or David just been elected as a male first name with which the earlier Nordic or Frisian names have been suppressed.
