London-based Japanese conductor Akiko Ohtomo is continuing to offer encouragement for the reconstruction of areas hit hard by the March earthquake and tsunami through music. Ohtomo, a native of Iwaki, Fukushima Prefecture, is the conductor of the Hokusai Orchestra, which is named after ukiyoe painter Katsushika Hokusai ( ).

Akiko Ohtomo (conductor) Currently we are looking for sponsors to support the concert. The proceeds from the tickets sales will be paid straight to the affected area of the disaster in Fukushima. Also donations are welcomed from organizations as well as from individuals.
