My father-in-law was born in Belgrade from Vasilije Ramic Bogdase in Bosnia in 1913 and he said that the name came from a prominent Ramic member of the family who was lame, in Serbian to limp = hramati or colloquial "Ramati," said what he called Ramo and his family later became known as Ramic family.
